my laptop got stolen.. it was a sony.. very expansive around $2000. i want to get a new one because i am a high school student and i have a lot of reseach papers and project that requires to be typed and use of the internet. Please give me suggestion on something cheap if possible and reliable. please and thank you :)

That really sucks that your laptop was stolen.
You're a student so weight is a factor. I didn't do very well in high school but I do know that people that did do well carried allot of books and stuff so keep it light. Also, you want portable Internet so go for a model that already has wireless capability built in or at least a USB modem capability. Being in high school, images are just as important as spelling in your reports so media friendly models with built in digital card readers is a good idea. And lastly, compatibility with AV equipment. Presentations are very stressful. Take one thing off your mind knowing you can plug your computer into a AV projector and not have to worry about anything not working.
HP is a brand I have had very good experience with. A little costly but well worth it.

the type and type of your pc has no bearing on your cyber web connection. different than that. i admire Dells. I basically offered an fantastically precise geared up one for basically below 1300

HP they're expensive but very reliable and of good quality!!
Or maybe a ASUS which is an european company - their laptops are fabulous!!!
