really that important?? I think I can get by just fine with 4 fingers.

it seems like it would be important.. Maybe someone with out a thumb could answer that better and i'm not the person for that job

studies have shown that you need a thumb to open doors, pick things up, carry things, and many other things BUT
for people who dont have thumbs seem to manage just as well. it's like any other 'difficulties' that present you in life- there's a way to go around it and figure it out, it would just be a learning process

I've always felt that the thumb is so unappreciated. Sadly, I think the thumb is one of those things that you don't miss until it's gone!

well think about this.....
how would you write??
how would you pick up small objects??
notice that it is the only finger that oppose all the other fingers.....
of course you can get by without it, even without all your fingers...
but, it would be pretty hard missing one of your fingers.... especially your thumb... (",)

lilfe would b a lot harde without thumbs. think about animals with paws that cant hold things imagine using your teeth to carry things. lol.
