1/12 (16) =

16 / 12 =

1 4/12

1 1/3

1/3 = 0.3333333333

Mulltiply 12 times the decimal

12 x 0.3333333333 = 4

add 1' 4" or

one foot four inches

you take 1/12th of 16 ft, so the answer is 16/12 feet, or 4/3 ft
