I should think you're fine. My wife had off-and-on contractions for months with our second kid, and he went full-term and popped out making a heck of a racket (he hasn't stopped since, but that's another story). As long as you keep getting checked on a regular basis so that anything unusual can be picked up, I wouldn't worry.
Incidentally, one thing people don't think about much is the doctor/confidence thing. If, for any reason at all, you find that you don't have confidence in your ob guy, then you should probably find a new one. That applies to any doctor at any time. If you don't like the Doc's hair color or the way he says "Good Morning!", that's good enough reason to change, if it bothers you. Your doctor should be your choice, especially when you're worried about things.
Anyway, don't panic - small frame or not, women have been having babies a long time now, and it usually comes out just fine (if you'll excuse the bad joke). If this is your first one, expect it to hurt, especially at transition, and expect it to take a fairly long time. You'll be fine, though - once things are ready, and the kid comes out, all that stuff just disappears and all you feel is relieved (at least that's what I've heard from the women I've known). My wife found that singing/moaning when the contraction really hit hard made it easier to ride out the pain. Above all, though, try not to worry - no matter how it works out, it will be OK.

Braxton Hicks are not real contractions. They do not dilate they are kinda like practice ones you can use them to help you breathe. That way when you do start those real contractions you can breathe better. It makes delivery much better. Now don't get ocnfused with Braxton Hicks and real contractions. When you drink Orange juice and lay on your left side Braxton Hicks tend to slow down. Real contractions won't. Real contractions make you dilate.
Some doctors don't believe in Braxton Hicks they say every contraction is real. That is mostly older Doctors. Younger ones tend to believe there is a difference. I had them at 19 weeks also and my baby was a week overdue so no they are nothing to worrry about to much. I noticed I didn't feel any as much when I was resting as I did when I was busy at work or cleaning just stop and take a couple deep breaths and it will feel better. I used them to help me breathe right and my second birth was a breeze. I had no meds and it was over in no time because I didn't stop breathing I used breathing as a helper and it really works.

My girl friends braxton hicks started at 19 weeks too. In the end her braxton hicks were so bad that every time she went into the hospital, the contractions were so bad that they thought she was having the baby. So they would have her walk around for an hour. If she hadn't started to dilate then they would give her something for the pain and send her home. In the end she was a week late and she was so used to the routine that she figured they would give her medication for the pain and send her home. Needless to say she delivered 10 minutes after arriving at the hospital.

Good Luck!

I had this all throughout my 2nd pregnancy.I even felt the pressure that you feel when your starting to go into labor. The best thing to do is keep mentioning it to your Dr. everytime you go to your appointments to make sure she knows what's going on & be light on your feet.Don't strain yourself or over excercise it will make them even stronger. So plenty of rest is the key.If they become too consistent or to strong call the Dr. right away. It's pretty normal to have these all throughout pregnancy or towards the end.My Dr.told me that sometimes braxton hicks can be confused with an aching caused by your uterus expanding(like cramps) during pregnancy in which case drinking something warm helps like some chamomile tea.Best of Luck!

I had Braxton Hicks almost as soon as I got pregnant. It's nothing to worry about. They can start at any time. Some women just feel them sooner than others. Worrying about them too much can make them worse though, so just try to relax.

Braxton Hicks contractions usually begin after the 20th week, but they can be felt earlier for a number of reasons. If they become very painful or frequent, than there might be cause for concern.

Don't worry about it! I started having them at 12wks! I was worried too, but they have pretty much stopped for now, and I have had no other problems... I am 16 wks.... Braxton hicks are fine, as long as they are not too regular... Good Luck!

I was about 3 months along with this pregnancy, I am now 35 weeks along and still having them, I don't doubt that I will make it to full term, but even if I don't go to 40 weeks, in two weeks I wont be considered preterm anymore, you have nothing to worry about as long as they aren't regular and pain full, good luck and congrats

It's definitely normal. Just make sure you drink lots of water because that can make them worse. Your body is just getting ready. You may even feel the baby soon because it can make the baby move around. Congrats!
