I guess the worst thing a teacher could do is teach misleading information intentionally because they were not prepared for the class, or have a sexual relationship with their student.

Not prepare for the classes properly. The important work is done outside the classroom sometimes. How modern are the teaching aids that allow students to concentrate on what the teacher's saying rather than having to write down a lot of notes or have to look down at their books? That's why aircraft pilots like "heads up displays", meaning they can see important instrument readings displayed transparently as they look out the cockpit windshield to fly the plane. It's the age of the cheap laptop computer, which every teacher should be using to full advantage to display teaching aids up on a screen as well as notations she makes as she talks. The whole day's presentation should be stored on the hard drive including audio, video and assignment notes so that the students can access them on the internet from the library or their home etc. and replay the whole day's lesson plan if desired.

I agree with almost everything already said here, so I'd like to add one simple thing that teacher's often do to their detriment: turn their back to the class and talk to the chalkboard rather than to the students. This one's a common mistake and I'm sure they don't even realize they're doing it. But when teachers do that, no one can hear them, no one can see what they're writing on the board, and the teacher can't see if anyone is raising their hands to ask a question or falling asleep or whatever. Turn around!

Well above all from my point of view back in high school...The worst thing of all is that our teacher answers her calls on her cell phone every minute while she's currently teaching in the class. This makes us all mad.And this goes on daily the same routine. And one day I once recorded her and showed it to the principal and the next day she's kicked out of the class!

Teachers should never use their position to express/lecture on their personal beliefs (e.g. political rants, religious lectures). Not only are they failing to present both sides of the issue but it is anything but constructive. It can make studnets who do not share those beliefs incredibly uncomfortable. Also, teachers should never not let a student ask a question/challenge what they are saying. Allowing students to think critically is very important.
Teachers should never discourage a student; negative attitudes towards students deflates student self-esteem. Telling a student that they can't learn something or that they can't succeed in the class only makes them lose confidence in themselves.

all of the thing the others have said were right But i think the worst is when you're sleeping in the class , suddenly teacher shouts at you and asks you " can You repeat what i have said few Mins ago ? " and after it when you don't answer the question , he/she will trow you out of the class and will tell you to come with your parents tomorrow ! it would be aWful !
wish u wouldn't have this experience !
Take care , babye !

I'd have to say making a child feel bad for asking anything or questioning something that they don't understand.
