Nothing would be detected 3 days post conception. Things are just too small, and probably not even in the uterine cavity yet. Remember that things must be of a certain size to see on ultrasound. A pregnancy which is 3 days old minuscule.

"By day three, the cell (zygote) has divided into 16 cells."

Cell sizes are measured in Nanometers. A nanometer = "one billionth of a meter."

So, no...there is no way that can be seen by the human eye, let alone ultrasound. Talk to your ultrasonographer.....

Usually at 4 weeks a transvaginal ultrasound can detect the gestational sac but not yet the embryo or baby or even the heartbeat. I just found out I am pregnant about a month ago through a transavginal ultrasound (after a positive pregnancy test) and the doctor showed me the gestational sac. She said I was roughly 4 weeks pregnant. It is normal for your period to vary from other periods; this happens sometimes. Stress can also affect the length of your period and so can nutrition. From what you are describing,it could be very early pregnancy like 1-2 weeks gestation, but not soon enough to show anything on the ultrasound. However if the tests came up negative and you took more than one, then it probably means you are not pregnant as pregnancy tests are usally 98 percent accurate. However you say you are in another country right now so maybe those tests are not as accuarate? If I were you I'd make an appontment with my obgyn as soon as I get back home, but from what you are describing it sounds unlikely you are pregnant. Also the excessive burping and nausea, though these are symptoms of early pregnancy, usually do not occur until "later" early pregnancy, like around the sixth week or so, and by then the doctor would be able to see something on the ultrasound and the tests would be positive. The reason why some women are pregnant but see nothing on the screen when they get an ultrasound of their uterus is bc the pregnancy is ectopic---meaning the embryo is growing outside of the uterus, either in the fallopian tubes, one of the ovaries, cervix, or even the abdominal cavity. Ectopic pregnancies are fairly uncommon and if you were having an ectopic pregnancy you would still positive with pregnancy tests, unless of course it was say only 5-10 days after conception, but that's the same for a normal uterine pregnancy as well. Maybe your symptoms are being caused by stress from worrying or even from being in another environment (country) different than your own. Stress can do all kinds of weird things to your body and to your period cycle too.

That soon after conception, the embryo is not even implanted in the lining yet and would not be able to be seen with a ultrasound. most likely the egg is not even out of the tubes yet and in the uterus. The earliest I have heard of a ultrasound done is 5 weeks and even that early they cant see much. The heart isn't visible to be seen beating till after 6 weeks of pregnancy. I wish you all the best and good luck!

Yes, an ultrasound can detect if you're pregnant no matter how early. They can detect anything big or small, hence the reason the doctor will send you for an ultrasound to find out what's wrong whether your problem is big or small. Ultrasounds can't detect a lot!

Probably not b/c it takes up to a week for it to travel to the uterus and implant itself. Although maybe if they do a full pelvic ultrasound, maybe? they could see something? I'm doubting it though. The zygote is only a group of cells. Check with the u/s tech. They would probably know.

It takes approximately 7 weeks after conception for an ultrasound to show the baby. At 7 weeks, the heartbeat can be seen.

It usually takes a week after you miss your period for your levels to go up. The baby would be WAY too small to even dectect on an ultrasound.

No. Even after you get pregnant it takes about 5-10 days for the egg to implant. Sorry.

Highly unlikely. At that point the embryo is much to small. Picture this...at about 10 weeks, it is only about the size of the finger nail on your pinky finger!

Good luck either way!

I think at that time it is still considered a zygote, microscopic, too small for the human eye to see.
