I would have to say yes. If you look at the box score of the Nat'l Championship game he dominated that game statistically. 25 points (10-15 from the field), 12 Rebs (keep in mind that they play less time in college and take less shots with a 35 sec shot clock so it's like collecting 15-17 Rebs in the NBA), 1 Ast, 1 Stl, and 4 Blks (I counted 5 but they gave him 4 officially).
He was the best player on the floor. Fla was just better at nearly every other position. If you noticed in that game a guy went straight at him on 3 occasions. All 3 times the ball was either stuffed at the rim, or swatted away. Keep in mind that 2 of the 3 players that went straight at him will play in the NBA.
He has great instincts, especially on Defensive end of the floor. He has big hands which will help him with ball control on the offensive end, and will help him to dish out of the post when doubled - like that of Shaq. He also has long arms for his height so he really plays about 7'2. Plus he's actually an above avg FT shooter for a big man. His 63% FT's don't really tell the story because he literally shot FT's with his left hand due to injury at the beginning of the season. He shoots in the 70% area for FT's.
Yes, I feel that he is ready for the NBA. Defense will be his strong suit at the NBA level, especially in his first few yrs.
Also, if you look at the box score in that game, look at what the Fla starting front court was held to. Corey Brewer 4-12 FG's, Noah 1-3 FG's, Hoford 6-15 FG's. That's 11-30 total, which is under 37% from the floor for the Fla front court.

Defensively Oden is ready for the NBA. He has the ability to be a strong force even in the NBA because of his length. I think he needs more seasoning but if he goes to the right place and stays injury free I could see his numbers being comparative to Emeka Okafor without all the injuries. He will get double-doubles because of offensive putbacks and the few drawn up plays for him. He is an underrrated passer and this will work to his advantage in the NBA. My main question is that if Mike Conley Jr. gets drafted and plays for another team how will Oden react with having to play without him for the first time in almost 6 years?

He's not 100% ready, but there's no player in this draft completely ready for the league, but hey thats why they're rookies and thats why it's so fun to talk about them...because you never know how well or poor they'll be in the NBA until they prove it. But going off what Oden showed this year his all around game is ready for the NBA, he just needs to get a bit stronger so that he can battle down low with the best of them.

No he isn't. Although he is 7 feet, he doesn't have a great post move. When he has the ball, all he does is turn around and throws it up. He has no accuracy. He will be dominant on the defensive end, but he will have to work extra hard to get a solid post move and become dominant on the offensive end. Ohio State is getting another 7 foot prospect next year, Oden should stay and better his skills. He will be better off in the long run.
Durant on the other hand is a complete player. He is NBA caliber. Just my opinion though.

Like Kevin Durant, Oden doesn't really have any competition to challenge him in college. It wasn't until the Georgetown game that Oden saw anyone his size (Hibert). There is a lot that the NBA can teach him that he can't be taught at the college level. Who knows how he can compete at in the NBA but we do know there is no competition for them in the NCAA.

Yes...he's an athletic, smart 7 footer. he has a jumphook and can use either his right hand or left hand to score. He's a terrific defender and has the speed to keep up with guards too.
I think he'll be known more of a defender than an offensive players, but players like him are very very rare.

There's not much doubt that this kid is ready. I think he should go back to Ohio State for another year for two reasons:
a) he needs to develop a post/mid range game
b) he would undoubtedly be taken number 1 in 2008, with no Kevin Durants in the way
that maximizes the money he could make. it maximizes his potential.
he should go back to college, but I would like to see him go to the pros, only if my Celtics get him at #1 =D

I don't think he is ready .I say that because i watched him play against other 7 footers, more specifically Georgetown's 7 footer and he had problems with his post moves.I still think he should come out because he will get better, and he should do that on the NBA level. He is risking millions and injury if he returns to college.

If he shows discipline and patience he should be okay. He shouldn't always try to block shots because he will get into foul trouble easily. See Andrew Bynum for example. As long as he can alter shots and make people think before they go into the paint he's doing his job. and he must work daily on his offesive game, if he has one. I know he can dunk and swing his feet while hanging on the rim, but that's about it.
