I absolutely loooooooooooooooooooooooooove cricket. I am from Guyana which makes me part of the Caribbean and West Indian community and, here, cricket is the game we all grow up playing. Its in our blood and its our passion and we love it (that's y we r hosting CWC 2007, partly anyways).
It really is a fun game, but u gotta understand it atleast a little bit (of course) and its best if u understand the teams too.
Its called a gentleman sport but it can be kick *** exciting.
At this exact moment, the Sri Lankans are getting blows by the Aussies :( Wickets jus keep falling
If u r from the States then i can understand ur feelings about cricket. All i gotta say is : i think its a gr8 sport and i love it, Its in our way of life, dude!
CRICKET UNITES US :)

I'm an Aussie and I love cricket! You know that Christmas is just around the corner when our summer season of cricket starts showing on TV in Australia. I think they called the game cricket because of the sound of the crickets in the trees in summer in Oz! When you hear that sound, you know it's gonna be a hot day, the cricket is on, the players have their sunscreen smeared heavily on their faces, they are sweating profusely, the England redheads are burning under our hot sun (Colly, can I rub some Aloe Vera all over your body after the game, pretty please?).

It is quite interesting and I am enjoying it so far. I think I will very dissapointed should South Africa not make it to the last four, as their progress now depends on their last game with England.
Should England win against South Africa, then South Africa are out and England are through to the semis. I fear that might happen - I will be crossing my fingers for the Proteas.
I don't think there is anything to stop the progress of these three teams from progressing to the semis; Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankans have proved to be better than South Africa in this year's world cup. I don't think the rankings reflect true potential of the teams.

One thing that will make you enjoy any game is the knowledge on the game and understanding the finer aspects.Any body who loves any game will agree on this. The beauty of cricket is its glorious uncertainties and the endless arguments on every defeat. Also one perfect way to bring the rain at any place any time.
