I'm 15, and I'm taking the lifeguarding course at the moment, but I would like to know if the final test is hard, and what is expected of you in order to pass?

Hey, the test is not hard if you pay attention in class.

- The swim is an easy 500.
-You will need to dive down and retrieve a brick or body from the bottom of the pool.
- You need to procifienctly demonstrate all of the skills you have practiced and learned in class, including active drowning victim, passive drowning victim, distressed swimmer rescue, submerged victim, submerged head/neck injury, deep water submerged victim, etc.
- You will need to proficiently demonstrate the entry techniques you have learned (compact jump, stride jump) and know when to use each one.
- You will need to know the information you review in class and learn on the videos, such as chain of repsonse, victim priority, etc. Study the questions at the end of the chapters and you will find that the final test is VERY VERY SIMILAR to these questions.
- Successfully pass the CPR test and first aid test and know how to react to any given scenario (victim stops breathing, what do you do? etc)

GOOD LUCK!!!

I was surprised at how challenging some of the things were., but it was nothing to be overly worried about. You must be very strong in the water, and dont get yourself nervous because that will have an affect on how you preform on the test.

Good Luck !

i didn't think so but i grew up around it since both of my parents are lg instructors....if you just read the book and pay close attention to the review questions in the book...the questions are almost identical to the test. be sure to read all the answers and choose the best one because many times there can be more than one answer but choose the best one for the question

no it is very easy especially if you pay attention in class. most of what you learn is just the same over and over to practice it, and most instructors won't let you fail without first having you take the test over and over again until you do pass so its nothing to worry about.
