Yah srilanka has potential to win the world cup but that potential is not enough to beat the Australia.

Yes, When they kept Vaas and Murali out of the team for the match against Aus. is clearly shows their game plan. They don't want to expose Vaas and Murali and they keep them for the final and it was a wise decision by the Captain and the man behind the scene. I think it will be a tough final for Aussies in the world cup if they meet Srilanka in the final.

It has the potentials but the momentum is in favor of Australia and it looks like there ain't a team that can beat Australia at the present time. India and Pakistan sent their weakest teams and we know the results. A team that has a balanced team in all the departments is most likely to win and when we compare the Australians with the Sri lankans, the Australians have the upper hand.

If the Final played between the Srilanka and Aus.
Then Srilankan Faith depend on the Mailnga and Jayasuria. Because barbodas pitch likely to have in the Aus. We know that Aus almost undefedable in that condition. These condition will nulify the Srlinkan spinner effect except Murli.

Sri Lanka has got a very good balanced team and has been reasonably consistent in the recent past. In the current world cup they have been playing extremely well. They have, therefore, the potential to win the world cup.

Yes of course they have the potential but realistically speaking will they win it? I don't think so.
Sri Lanka is the best fielding side in cricket right now. Their fielding keeps them in the game and makes them very hard to beat.
Their bowling is very good with Vaas, Murali, Malinga...but outside of that everyone else is very vey inconsistent.
Their batting is good but Jayasuriya takes wayyyy too many risks and that starts the collapse for Sri Lanka. Tharanga is a stylish player but he is better suited for Test Cricket than odi...he's not a good strike batsman. Jayawardena and Sangakarra succumb to pressure way too many times to be considered reliable.
Dilshan and Silva are aiite but they have not proven anything big so far.
New Zealnd the best all round team is gonna beat them (i know they beat nz earlier but they're gonna step it up big time when they meet sl next time because of their high cricket IQ and experience)

Yes I think Sri Lanka can win this thing for a variety of reasons.
* They have the best team in terms of variety, especially the bowling where we have, the pace of Malinga, the Guile of Vaas, the reliabilty of Jayasuriya and the indescribable Murali.
*The conditions in the Caribbean are best suited to them rather than any other team.
*Their batting is one of the best line ups. With the explosive Jayasuriya, followed by Tharanga, Sangakkara, Jayawaredena, Silva.
*They are one of the best fielding sides in the competition.
*The team has HEART...something that I find lacking in so many other team. HEART. something that we can never talk about enough because it so underated...HEART.
I know they're not doing very well against Australia today but I really think that's ok, it's better to lose against them now than later and if Sri Lanka wanted to win this game today, they would have brought out their best line up...which I think is a pretty smart move.

Yes they have the potential becuase Srilanka team makes a good combination of bating, bowling and fielding as well.....they are doing great in all the departments and this is what a great team should be like ! if luck favoured them , they would make it !! But ofcourse not easily becuase Australia , NewZealand and South Africa are equaly best ! i wish them good luck !
