Postmarked. Do it today, you know what the PO will be like tomorrow.

Yes, but you can also electronically file for an extension by phone or online. Those are quick and easy. You will only need to pay what you estimate you will owe (or you can pay nothing if you are expecting a refund), otherwise the balance of what you owe will have fees assessed to it as you get farther away from April 17th.
