There's a pretty wide age range for the start of menstruation, and at 17, you're still in that range. By 20 or 25, you should have it checked.

It's normal--nothing to do about it.

My friend's mam started when she was like 17 and she thought she was really weird. All her friends had already started and when they started talking about periods she felt left out. She went to her GP and gynecologist and they gave her some tablets to make her ovaries release an egg. She has been fine ever since and has had two kids so she is fine. Hope this helps, and don't worry xXx

If you are a very active person who plays in alot of sports that could be why you haven't started. The more physically active you are the longer your body waits. My niece was a soccar player and almost 16 she quite soccar then it came to her.

I would highly consider seeing a doctor as most young ladies start there menstrual cycle in their early teens. There could be something happening with you that if you don't get it checked out it could cause you problems in having children when you are ready.

my daughter's best friend didn't have her period at 17, so her mother took her to a gynecologist. he found that her reproductive organs weren't mature, but more like a little girl's. that's just one possibility. only a doctor can tell you for sure.
