Convert 1 foot to inches

1 foot = 12 inches

d = r t

d / t = r . . . .use this formula

12 / 24 = r

1 / 2 = r

The rate is 1/2 inch per hour

- - - - - -

Find the distance

d = r t

d = 1/2(24

d = 24 / 2

d = 12

- - - - - -

Find the time

d / r = t

12 / 1 ÷ 1/2 = t

12/1 x 2/1 = t

24 / 1 = t

24 = t

- - - - - - - -

so the rate of 1/2 inch per hour is valid for the distance and time.

it depends what units you'd like to convert to. Let's say inches / hour:

(1 ft/ 24 hrs) *(12 inches / 1 ft)
= 12 inches / 24 hours
= .5 inch / 1 hour
