Ah...it sounds cliche'd but just be you.

Yes, you can try to make friends online, but make sure they are your age. Don't meet them anywhere in person, unless it is a public place and do it with a cop or security person or family member nearby. There are certain sites that verify age.

Start thinking of yourself as a person who attracts friends. Write this down like 50 times a day and think it...say it as an affirmation and a mantra. It is the Law of Attraction and what you feel in your heart is what you attract to you or manifest.

It sounds crazy but I had these problems too as a young person. But I did this and I smiled at everyone and didn't let anyone's rude comments and such get to me and the next year I was voted 1st runner up for Homecoming Queen and on Student Council, etc.

I made many new friends, most of whom were very different from me.

Just keep your mind and heart open, pray about it (if you are a believer, if not God Bless You), and be friendly to people.

Don't think about yourself so much. It makes you self conscious and that gives off a weird vibe to people.

Join activities you can relate to and a few others that you feel are not you, but only because you need to keep your mind open and try new things.

Do volunteer work outside school, volunteer for things that interest you, like to work in an office if you like the law or accounting, or at the museum if you like art, and you will find more friends who are interested in things you are.

The more places you go, the more people you meet, and the more you open your heart, the more friends you will find.

May I make another suggestion? Go for quality over quantity.
There are friends and there are FRIENDS.

God bless you. I will pray for you and hold a good thought for you. Have a good day.

Learn to live outside of the norm. The world is shrinking culturally, and this means more and more people that don't fit your "type". Look beyond the obvious and try to get to know some new and different people. I've been to many countries and had a good time in most because I was around different people doing new things. It's boring hanging around the same people day in and day out. What can they actually offer. The saying " opposites attract" is real. As a black woman you should welcome being around different people. Not to long ago people didn't want to associate with "you". Just because "you" didn't look or act like them. Think about it. One

Hmmm don't exactly understand what you mean but worry more about the books and filling your head and worry about the rest later - when you go to college you can pick a funky city to find more people that you like to hang out with - high school is not the real world. You can find and make friends, you just have to put your mind to it (after high school that is).

Well a lot of kids I know, aren't always depressed and wearing black. So it could be pretty hard.
