Scottrade works just fine for me (http://www.scottrade.com/). I have my IRA in it. Those $7 trades, often trading almost instantly, are really, really nice.

Hi Blessathlete. DId you finally start your own online brokerage firm? I am an entrepreneur in the midst of starting-up my own on-line discount brokerage business. It's just getting ready to launch in December 2013 / January 2014. Let me know if you'd like to dialogue further about this? This is a very legitimate response. This is not a marketing promotion nor a scam. I have a team of 4 technicians and other employees putting the final touches to the platform. We are still looking for capital because, even though we will be launching imminently, it will take about 6 months before the revenues exceed the costs. And we will need to hire additional staff at the outset to address many additional roles (ie., 2 more technicians, 2 or 3 service staff, a social media marketer), so the costs will continue to outpace the revenues in the near term. If you are interested we can Skype to introduce ourselves. sincerely, Jay Mason

Inexpensive ones: Zecco, TradeKing, Scottrade... Yes, sharebuilder is one of inexpensive ones, too.

Others: Etrade, TD Ameritrade, Fidelity, Charles Schwab, ...

Check out these for comparison:

Doing this sort of thing online is just asking for your money to be stolen. I would recommend investing offline. You don't know what or who you're investing in.
