They are HYPOCRITES! Al Gore spend $30,000.00 last year in energy bills alone. I don't see any of the libs on here conserving energy by living like the Amish do.
I also don't see libs who are against the war inviting terrorists over to explain to them how naughty they have been. They would run and hide and beg President Bush to protect them if they ever saw a terrorist.
Talk is cheap....especially out of the mouths of liberals.
Edit: LOL at the previous posts. "Al Gore's home is larger than the average Americans home." My question is, WHY DOES HE NEED SUCH A LARGE HOME?" If he was really concerned about the environment, he would downsize, don't you think?

The office building I work in uses a lot more electricty than the average household. So does the White House.
The raw numbers are meaningless unless they are evaluated against the use of the electricity. The Snopes articles says exactly that. The Gore home serves as a home and two offices, so it would naturally use more electricity, Plus, he uses eco-resources to the degree he can.
So the problem with the Liberals who respond is that they are givng stupid answers to the question, not the correct one.
That being said, not everyone who supports the war needs to be a warrior. Someone has to sustain the economy that supports the war. Some has to build the tanks and guns and bullets. Someone has to spend 25% of his income on taxes to pay for a stupid war.

just to start with I am no liberal, I am an American who tries to vote on what will help our country and not what will put more money in my parties pocket, I don't vote or hate along party lines, I believe both parties have lied, stolen from the American people, and killed all in the name of freedom and the American way. I would like to see them all gone, now back on the article you reference, any one with common since can see it was written with a slant, it was probably written by a republican, but what they did to make it look so bad is they compared his Mansion to the average American home, the average American home is only three bedrooms and 2 baths, and his mansion is like 10 rooms and I believe a screening room and so on, if they really wanted a fair comparison they would have compared it with another household on similar dimensions, but this article was not written with the intent of being fair, it was written with a purpose, and that was to make him look like he is a hypocrite, we all really need to wake up and smell the BS. We need to be Americans not republicans and democrats!!

From the snopes link you posted:
"A spokesperson for the Gore family responded by noting some mitigating factors, such as the fact that the Gores' Nashville residence isn't an "average" house — it's about four times larger than the average new American home built in 2006, and it essentially functions as both a residence and a business office since both Al and Tipper work out of their home. The Tennessean also noted that the Gores had been paying a $432 per month premium on their monthly electricity bills in order to obtain some of their electricity from "green" sources (i.e., solar or other renewable energy sources). Other factors (such as the climate in the area where the home is located and its size) make the Gore home's energy usage comparable to that of other homes in the same area.
The former vice-president maintained that comparing raw energy-usage figures is misleading and that he leads what he advocates, a "carbon-neutral lifestyle," by purchasing energy from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and methane gas to balance out the carbon emissions produced in generating the electricity his home uses"
Simply using more electricity doesn't make him a hypocrite. You've self-servingly boiled a complex personal choice down to your own partisan position without considering that you might not be measuring all variables.
In other words, the liberal statement you cited and your own statement are not the same things. Contrary to your suggestion, Al Gore is not a major polluter simply because his home has a higher electric bill (which, interestingly, also in the snopes link - no one seems to be able to agree on how much more he actually pays...)
When we say "if you support the war, go fight in it" what we're saying is don't tell others to do your dirty work for you.
That's not even remotely comparable to what Al Gore is doing.
Edit: Gotta love the blind partisan rightie. I use the source that the questioner uses to prove them wrong and get thumbs down because the truth and the sources provided don't back up their argument.

I say that is Mighty White of him.
You ConPubs always forget Gore is from a Old Southern Plantation Family. Sure he has a big electric bill. But did you think for a second how many slave shacks are wired into his meter?
Most of the time the Goracle is out deceiving idiots into spending more money to buy a smaller car. His lights are off & no ones home. Only the slave shacks on his Old Southern Family Plantation are using that electricity.

I've gotten into that same argument a hundred times with liberals, who can't remember something form one statement prior.
It goes like this:
Lib: Well, if you support the war, why aren't you over there right now?
Me: Are you suggesting that in order to have an opinion of whether the war is righteousness or not, you must be in the military? So, why are you not in the military, if you have an opinion against the war?
Lib: Because I'm against the war!!!
Me: So you are allowed to be against the war, without being in the military, but you can not be for the war without being in it? Is that the same logic as saying you can not support a sports team, without being on the field?
And, are you admitting that everyone in the military supports the war?
Lib: NO, your a chickenhawk (one who avoids the draft),, why aren't you in iraq???
---it goes in circles with them. They completely dismiss logic.

It is, indeed, getting old. All this "liberals" and "conservatives" stuff does nothing but keep the wedge in all of US Americans.
Let's stop talking about talking, and actually *do* something about these issues, OK?
Hugo Chavez has issued yet another middle-finger to America by claiming that Venezuela's oil will bring power enough to Latin America to make the U.S. a paper tiger.
Let's END our addiction to all foreign oil. concentrate on biofuels and alternatives, and make these little tyrants choke on their oil. AND let's patent these technologies and SELL them to our "friends," so the rest of the world can give these jerks the middle finger.
THAT'S something that I think ALL of us can support.

"This is getting old" Excuse me, how can someone who calls himself "I hate hippies" complain about an "old" issue.
"I want our country to remain safe. That doesn't mean I have to go to war to do it." OK what are you doing for the war effort.
"Well, look at my message, not my actions" - lol, this is the essence of hypocrisy.
You wonder why people say go fight the war when you say you support it. That's the rejoinder to the conservative question that liberals who oppose the war should just leave the country.
Finally Al Gore. If you believe he's hypocritical because he has a high utility bill, then don't vote for him. His high electric usage is not proof that man's activities have nothing to do with global warming.

I say not all Libs think like that. Gore has good intentions and he is doing something about a cause he believes in. I don't believe in it but he does and kudos for him for taking action.
What action are you taking in supporting the war? Sitting on your computer arguing about it with people who disagrees is not action. Take an active role and then you can compare your support of the war to Gore's stance on Global warming.
