Hard and fast and much more painful than natural labor!! Ask if you can have the cervical gel instead, those are more gradual and not as hard, more like natural labor

I was induced 13 years ago with my daughter. I was 2 weeks over due so the Dr. induced me with pitocin. The nurse put the pitosin in my IV, and in about 15 minutes I started to feel contractions, it makes your labor pains harder. I went into labor on my own with my second child, and it wasn't half as bad as being induced with pitocin, it was so painful.

Wonderful! Well I got an epidural before I had any bad contractions so I didn't feel any real pain. Basically you just lay there and relax, they'll tell you to sleep but its hard to do when they check you every couple of hours. It made my labor procede quickly and I had no problems pushing, that part only took like 15 minutes. The worst part was waiting to get dialated. Try and bring a book or a portable dvd player, there is never anything on tv and your husband/bf/whatever will be bored and tell you how boring this is. If you both play cards bring a deck of cards with you. The waiting is the worst.

when they induce you with pitocin you are going to get your contractions really fast and really intense. Since your body isn't going to get a chance to adjust to the pain a lil bit at a time you are going to be in a lot of pain really quick but that is why they have epidurals right?!? Good LUck and congrats to you :)

The Pitocin makes your contractions harder and longer!
I had labor both ways and i think with the pitocin it is worse. NOt to scare you but just to be honest. but there is always the epidural, which i didn't have and survived!
GOod luck and congrats on being a mommy!

I was induced for my son and it was not painful and it went by fast. I was in labor for 4 hours, My first born I didn't get induced and was in labor for 13 hours. Everyone makes being induced so horrible, but to me it was easier and I wasn't tired when It was time to push like the first time

I got induced with pitocin... my water broke and I didnt have contractions so they gave me pitocin.
After they give it to you in your IV... it feels cold going into you. It gave me the shakes, although I wasnt cold.
Its not bad... but for me... it worked quick. My labor was less than 3 hours....
it starts your contractions and when they come... oh boy! lol. Didnt mean to scare you.

Getting induced is nothing to worry about. I was induced with two pregnancies and natural with one. At least when you are induced you get the option of an epidural. With my youngest I didn't get to have one he came too fast.

It makes labor pains alot stronger and it makes labor itself move alot faster. good luck and remember no matter what pain you go through it is only temporary and it is all worth it once you get that beautiful baby out
