Do any of you find that the song 'The Living Years' by Mike and the Mechanics hits a bit too close to home? I've always loved it but I relate to it too much, especially after my own Dad died.

Just wondered if anyone else felt the same way. Here's the song in case you haven't heard it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eafz-pTVe4

Yes it definitely hit home to me too that's why I tell everyone close to me that I love them whenever I see them or speak to them on the phone.
Never keep your feelings hidden it's not soft to show someone how much they mean to you and one day it will be too late and you'll regret it.

That song is such a downer - even though it's about a father and son, it makes you think about any relationship in your life that is strained or no longer there.

I would always turn the station when it came on so I've only heard from start-to-finish two or three times.

Oh yes, "I wasn't there that morning, when my father passed away..." my dad passed away also and yes it does hit close to home. The part when he hears his fathers voice in his baby's newborn tears also hits me good! I haven't even listened to that sone forever, but I still know the words, woder if "Mike" knows what an impact his song has had??
