It's caused by an over inflated sense of responsibility and guilt by the liberal majority.

Perhaps the most important things to point out are that Native Americans and African Americans were here long before anyone else. These groups are the people who belong to the land on which this country resides. Secondly, this country was (supposedly) created to escape religious persecution; religious freedom is something this country is supposed to represent. Third, morality and religion are not necessarily related. One could come up with a number of examples where religion sanctioned actions that were not moral.
As far as government assisted programs, I know of very few that cater specifically to one ethnicity or another, often the determining factor has to do with a specific problem, which isn't necessarily race or ethnically related. Additionally, because of the different cultures from which other ethnicities and races come, there are certain things that must be considered to help properly people of these populations that are specific to these groups.
Your comment about religion does bring up a good point; schools should be required to teach about all religions in a non-bias way. Perhaps if people had accurate knowledge regarding religions of the world, there would be a little more understanding of other people’s perspectives.

Powerful white men (mostly Protestant) run this country. Look at who makes up the Boards of Directors of all our major corporations.
The biggest government-assisted program by far is the housing subsidy that home owners get in the form of the mortage interest tax write-off yesterday, April 15th.
White people are by far the majority of home owners in this country.

Matt Damon's character (Edward Wilson) in The Good Shepherd visits a small time Italian born crook (Joe Pesci) in Miami and tells him unless he co-operates with the CIA in a plot against Castro he’ll have him deported.
The crook, scornful of the CIA says something like.
"We Italians we have our love of food, The Irish have a love of their homeland, the Jews have their traditions, hey even the ******* have their music...but what have you got?"
Edward Wilson says:
“The United States of America. The rest of you are just visiting"

Actually, most of the politicians who run this country are at least nominally Christian, so your claim holds no water. Also, it's not as though the expression of religion is being banned. Rather, it goes against the Constitution to have any state sponsoring of religion or to force people to accept any particular religious teachings.

The country was NOT founded on religion. The country was founded on the right to practice your religion freely and be free some persecution for practicing said religion.

No one institution, race, creed, or religion "runs" this country. Your assertion serves to unveil your racist attitude. Grow up!
