I think " paradise" is always associated with warm weather and beautiful water. You can even experience paradise in NJ in the summer. Just go to the shore.
If you lived in Europe, paradise would probably be in the Mediterranean on some Greek Island.
If you lived in India, paradise would be Goa.
On the West Coast, paradise is Hawaii or the S. Pacific.

Ever been to the Caribbean? It IS paradise.
French Polynesia as well... Hawaii....
The whole concept of paradise is that it's an escape from your daily world. A place with few worries or cares. Islands lend themselves to that mentality. And that could just as easily be a remote island in the far north.

Having been to Barbados, I can say it is Paradise indeed. If Paradise was close to us,we'd take it for granted and eventually find flaws and it would be no longer Paradise, hence it being many miles away.
