Are McDonalds hamburgers 100% beef or is 100% beef a patented name for some undisclosed mixture (possibly not even meat)?

Having worked as management at McDonald's, in Canada, for over 15 years. I can promise you that the hamburgers are 100% beef. The Canadian government would not allow them to be called hamburgers unless they contain 100% pure beef.

I read it as made with 100% beef. That tells me there is 100% beef used as part of the mixture.

Definitely not. Most McDonalds burger contain a certain percentage of soy bi-product and meat (not necessarily beef). However, Hardeez does serve 100% beef and their burger just taste better.

100% beef from cattle fed on hormones, antibiotics and artificial growth enhancers which has then been mechanically recovered and processed. Mechanical recovery involves taking the bones where the proper meat has been cut off and blasting them with high pressure hoses to get the last shreds off... most of this ends up on the floor from where it is then scraped off and *some* of the water/blood/bits of guts is removed before the meat is shaped into burgers.

i don't think they're 100% beef because beef molds after a few days. McDonald's burgers never mold... not even the bread. if there is 100% beef, then there's something else mixed in.

It will be 100% beef or they wouldn't be allowed to claim that. What they don't tell you is what % the fat is. The nuances of the English Language. Ah!

no they are not 100% beef, I use to think the whole worm for protein rumor that went around years ago was a joke. Then come to find out one of my friends father-in-law has a worm farm, and sells his worms to McDonald's, he hinted that is what they were used for, I was grossed out so I just try not to eat the burgers, hey I am a chicken nugget girl.

Theres meat in them but i dont think most people want to know what parts. It's just a mind set anyway. Its all edible till the chemical additives are and poor handeling get envolved.
Bottom line, it wont kill you at least not immediatly.
