Got ya beat.. Me? December 23 2003.. Had massive heart attack, died twice, revived twice, and followed by 2 more smaller heart attacks within the next year..Open heart surgery and a quad bypass... I also worked from 2pm til 8pm (only 6 days a week though).. hahah are we related?? Do I miss it? YES very much, do I miss the money? No as I was one of the lucky ones that have been taken very good care of financially and had quite a large savings behind me. I still get a very nice check and carry all my benefits. I was lucky to have a company who respected me that much. But yes I miss the everyday contact of people and I wish I was still able to work.. But I have given up on ever returning as no doctor will release me.. Yes I too was offered a cushy job to return but again the doctors won't allow this.. I guess we can both say we are retired at a very early age.. 1 year different from you. Good luck to you.. But you aren't alone..

I will Never miss any kind of work. How are you doing so far? Guess it's new to you but you've only been retired since January. Must miss the people you worked with. Good luck, whatever you decide. If you don't have a favorite hobby, there's not much to TV and Answers every day.

I do miss work also. I've been unemployed for about 7 weeks. But the competiveness, challenges, and rewards are not the reason I miss it. I miss having a reason to get up in the morning.

No, I took an early retirement and I don't miss work one single bit. I am enjoying not having to get up at 5 or 5:30 AM every morning. I am enjoying coming and going as I please. No, I definitely DO NOT MISS WORKING!

You can have my job. You only have to work from 5 to 1, but that could give you enough time for a 2nd career.
Is it time to retire yet????????

i am just a student but i have realized that when you do something for a very long time, you make a habit of it and when you don't do it anymore, you surely miss it.
