you can get some terro it a thick liquid that the ants carry back the nest and they share it and it kills them all and takes a couple of days to kill them all but after you wont have anymore it works wonders

I think the best way to keep ants out of your home or office is to spray the area. A product such as home defense (by ortho) may do the job - but a professional pest control service would not cost that much (30 bucks - depending on location). If you want to take care of it yourself - I would start with the outside of home - and treat any noticeable ant bed with a granular type pesticide. After completing this task - spray the interior - especially points of entry. After a few days, the number of ants should decrease substantially.

Use a spray barrier that is organic like Sevan and spray the perimeter, Windows and door frames, in all the cracks and crevices at home too and place ant baits in damp areas like sinks. This should keep ants at bay for 4-6 months depending on how rainy it gets. You know it's time to respray / bait when you see the first scout. Good Luck!

I was told by my great grandfather to put a layer of salt all the way around my house. Now how well this works I am not sure, I ended up buying raid ant killer and sprayed around the house, doors and windows. This seemed to work quite well. Hope this helped.
