That depends on WHAT I'm confused about ... if it is something I'm not going to 'need' in my life, then I just let the person who is explaining it carry on talking, and pretend I understand. If it is something I will need ... then I will 'interrupt' and tell the person that I am 'confused' and would like help in understanding the explanation. I think that is 'the best way' to deal with my confusion ... I've always done it, and always will ...

If i confused in class, i'll ask the teacher until i can understand every single detail the information that he or she try to deliver. but if i'm having chit chat or just wasting my time talking with people, sometimes i just pretend to understand. Well, that's depends on the person, sometimes the way they talk make me confused and sometimes i just don't really care about the things that he or she is talking about, so i don't bother to understand it.

Stay friends with her through this. She is going through a very tough time and this is going to be hard for her. It was hard for her to tell you she liked you. Even if you don't feel that way about her, you do have an obligation as a friend to see her through it. Help her become the person she will be, and be a friend. She will need friends as most of the people who know her now will probably abandon her. She will undergo a lot of changes, and things will be very surprising. Just take them one at a time. Ask questions if you need to, but don't make fun.

If I'm not very interested in what the person is talking about, yes.. Or if it's someone who don't speak good English and I want to spare my self the agony of trying to understand each word..

I certainly do. It might take me a second to put on my "understanding" facade, but usually that is enough to allow me to figure it out what the heck they are talking about.

And if I am still lost, I will ask for clarification.

Oh no. I hate going into a conversation blindfolded. If I'm gonna engage a decent conversation you may have to clarify things more than once.
