Why do people say there's a first time for everything?
Well, the word "there's" is a contraction for either "there is" or "there was." Therefore, there's a first time for everything refers to there being or having been a first time for each thing happening. That's a true statement.

Because they usually mean there´s always a first time for them, like in their lives they get to experience new things, so when they say that they are usually talking about themselves. And to be honest, i do think that there can be new things under the sun. Its just about how you see it. :)

Because there is always a time to reap and a time to sow.
A time to make war and a time to make peace
A time for love, a time for hate.
A time to know the difference before it's too late.
