Last night we went out to eat and it's a crappy restaurant, but the waitress was good . so I left her 8 bucks and my 5 year old put in his dollar. the bill was for 36 bucks. This is how they make their money, so if they are nice and helpful, they get about 10 bucks out of me every time. They only make 2 bucks an hour.

I've worked on tips b-4, & I know how rude it is to either not leave 1 or to cheat ya out of a fair tip.
So I start @ 15%; & u can work ur way up or down from there.
Ppl either don't think about it or don't care whichever, doesn't matter. When u work on tips...THAT IS YOUR INCOME!
And the Co., u work for / @ takes that into consideration w/ ur wages, which stays low...w/ NO raises comin' @ ALL.
Usually u don't get a check from the Co., & if u do it's a 'real' small 1.Like less then 100.00

A normal priced meal for two, we leave $10. If we're dining at an expensive restaurant, and it's just two of us, we leave $25. If there's 5 or more, and the bill is over $150, we tip $75 to $100.

If I got decent service, I will leave 20 percent. If I got super service, perhaps even more. If I got so-so service or less, then 10 to 15 percent. I always leave a tip - I was a waitron at one time and I know it's hard work and low pay except for tips.

normal tip is always 15%, after that, the increase in tip is based off of the friendliness, attitude, and quality of service by our waitress. The highest I have ever tipped so far is 30%, but the poor girl who was severing us had six other tables she had to take over for some one who walked out, so any problems the guests had they automatically made it all her fault. She was doing the best she could and she kept up with everything, and got all of the orders right, plus i had over heard several people saying that they wouldn't tip her for this and that, stuff she could not control

usually, the standard I'll leave is roughly 10% or so. If I spend $30, I'll leave a $3 tip if the service was just ok, but if the service was really good then, I'd do $5 or more.

To me if the waitress or waiter are really nice, and they are trying their very best, (I mean its not always their fault the kitchen can make a lot of mistakes) so I tend to over tip.
If the waiter or waitress is hateful, and takes the fact they hate their job out on the patrions and sit around talking to co workers instead of getting drinks or doing what they are suppose to be doing then we barely tip.if we tip at all. it all depends on how bad the service is.

It determines the service. If the waitress was horrible I won't leave her anything, but if she was rather good, I tip 15%

Depends on, for what service I am tipping. At a restaurant around 20% unless it is just terrible. If it is for a lap dance depends on the woman. If I really like her and the dance is one that makes me do push ups with no hands....then the sky is the limit.

meals and drinks are about the only thing I tip for and I generally leave 20% unless service is terrible and then I might just stiff'em
