Both will connect you to the Internet. The major difference is speed and cost.
Dial-in uses 56Kbps modems, normal connection speed will be around 44Kbps.
DSL speed is around 785Kbps to 1.5Mbps. or 50 - 100 times faster. DSL requires a special modem and filters on your telephone lines but is an always on connection.
Summery...
Dial-in is cheaper but slower.
DSL is faster, higher in price, and has availability limitations but is always on.

Speed. Speed. Speed.
DSL is a dedicated line.
We have DSL through Qwest and have been very pleased. I use a good chunk of bandwidth but haven't had any problems like customers with Comcast that have there services cut because they use too much bandwidth.
Cons: Price. Dial up is cheaper but do you want to cruise the internet at a snails pace.

DSL is about 10x faster than dial-up. Dial-up is currently only useful for basic internet tasks, like reading e-mail and not even suitable anymore to download critical software updates, because of the sheer size of the files.

DSL hands down, because you are always connected to the internet and don;t need to unnecessarily take over a phone line. Secondly, if you have ever used DSL and dialup, you will realize that the speed difference is huge and most dialups slow speed and limitied connectivity will drive you insane.

once you're at homestead this is rather the two DSL or cable. At your place of work there may be a T1, yet those are mucho costly. If there is not any telephone line in any respect I anticipate you have have been given cable internet... Which corporation expenditures you for the extreme-speed internet provider?

both are better/best according to the requirment .
DSL - New technology
Dialup - Old technology
DSL - fast, consistent &cost is very less - NO PHONE LINE IS REQUIRED
Dialup - Slow, often disconnecting ,requires a DEDICATED PHONE LINE. Costlier .
