You can definitely be fertile for a week, but ovulation only occurs at one time.
The reason your window for conception is wide is because before ovulation sperm can survive in your uterus....and after ovulation the egg has a couple of days it can survive before deteriorating.
However, it is possible to ovulate twice in one month.

Most women ovulate ONCE a month. Although the body can do crazy things. You can be fertile for a week but I don't think you can ovulate for a week.

Every month, a woman has a fertile period that last for a week and it is usually the last day of that fertile period that a woman ovulates. You can only ovulate ONCE in a cycle. After that, the egg is good for 12-24 hours for conception.

You ovulate on one day at some time during that day and the egg you release is viable for about 24 hrs for fertilization. Because of the short life of your egg, it is best to have sperm already waiting to fertilize. While ovulation takes place on one day, your window of fertility is usually 3-5 days because sperm can survive up to 5 days in good mucous, with 3 days being about average. Hope that helps!

I guess anything is possible but that's very unlikely. Most women ovulate ONCE a month. That means ONE egg every cycle.

The egg most effective lives for 12-24 hours, but sperm can are living in fertile cervical mucous for as much as 5 days, so if it can be still there when the egg is released, being pregnant can effect even if you have not had sex for a couple of days.

The ovulation period can last for several days but during these days you have less fertile days and i think only one "most fertile" day in which you have higher chances to concieve.

The egg purely lives for 12-24 hours, yet sperm can stay in fertile cervical mucous for as much as 5 days, so if it is nonetheless there while the egg is released, being pregnant can result whether you have no longer had intercourse for a pair of days.
