I am a 25 year old married woman TTC. I have been taking my BBT for almost 3 weeks. About 7 days ago I had a raise in my BBT and its still rising. Usually it was around 97.4-97.6 and its been climbing. Today it was at 98.9. I ovulated on the 11th. Should my BBT still be rising? How many DPO should my BBT rise to be considered pregnant? I have also been having for the past 4 days or so the most excrutiating nipple pain ever and breast soreness. More so that before my period. And my period isn't due until the 28th of this month. So its kind of early to be getting PMS symptoms. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :-)

This will depend on how long your cycles normally are. For most women with a regular cycle, 1 or 2 days past their ovulation/peak day the BBT will start to rise and then stay elevated during the entire luteal phase, which is about 12-14 days on average.

Then your period would start and the BBT would drop again.

To track your temperature rise, start with the first temperature which is 4/10 of a degree above your low temperature level of 97.6. That would be any temperature 98.0 and above. If you temperature stays elevated at 98.0 or higher for 14 or more consecutive days you are probably pregnant.

If you have longer cycles, then your luteal phase might be closer to 16-20 days, so you would need to sustain those high temperatures for a little longer to confirm a pregnancy.

If you only just ovulated on the 11th it would be a little early to show pregnancy symptoms. Is there a chance you ovulated very early this month and maybe your period is coming sooner than you think?

Best of luck!

To suggest pregnancy your bbt should remain high for 18 day straight after ovulation, meaning it should remain above your cover line. Also, another thing that could be a sign of pregnancy is a second rise in temperature, making it a triphasic chart. This does not always mean pregnancy though. If you only just ovulated on the 11th it will probably be too early for any pregnancy signs though.

Maybe if you could put a link to your chart on here if you are able to, then people might be able to help you a bit more as they will be able to see it for themselves. Do you use fertility frend?

your BBT depends on what time of the day you are taking it,if it's early in the morning the result would be high BBT,it would be best to use a pregnancy test kit to really check if you are pregnant or not.BBT test is not really reliable though... =)
