I answered this question before but i will explain more in depth

is assume 2² = 2x²

2x² - 35x + 98 = 0

The middle term is - 35x

Find the sum of the middle term

multiply the first term 2 bythe last term 98 equals 196 and factor

The factors of 196 =

1 = 196
2 x 98
4 x 49
7 x 28 . . .<=. .use these factors
14 x 14

- 28 and - 7 satisfy the sum of the middle term

insert - 28x and - 7x into the euation

2x² - 35x + 98 = 0

2x² - 28x - 7x + 98 = 0

2x(x - 14) - 7(x - 14) = 0

(2x - 7)(x - 14) = 0

I think you mean
2x^2-35x+98

product = 2* 98
sum = -35

so we get -28 and -7
now 2x^2-35 x+ 98
= 2x^2-28 x- 7x +98
= = 2x(x-14) - 7(x-14)
= (x-14)(2x-7)

=(2*2)-(35*{+98})
=(4) - (3430)
= -3426

+98 = 98
