My worst fall was on a motorcycle.....going backwards.
No, I am not making this up.
I got this great idea to make a ramp and place it over the stairs leading to my screened in side porch so I could park my bike there out of the weather. Only problem was, I didn't measure the width of the doorway. I got a running start and drove up the ramp.... bounced off the doorway and went flying backwards down the ramp, where at some point I lost control and the bike and I fell right onto a bush my mother had just trimmed the day before, so that all that was sticking up was a bunch of 12" sticks, which I fell on.
OUCH.

I was 9 and was sailing full tilt boogie down a huge hill in Pennsylvania with "no hands" and wearing bell bottems when my pants got stuck in the spokes and I went flying. I skidded downhill on my knees on the asphalt and then finally stopped after sliding through the gravel on the side of the road. It was so bad that it sheared down my kneecap and I had to have an artificial one put in. It happened a long time ago and I have a really gross scar because back then they didn't care about cosmetic surgery. This is a cool question...I hadn't thought about that in a long time but I can still remember that feeling of freedom before I fell. I remember that more than falling.

I was riding across the railroad bridge,
they had wooden planks for people to walk on.
The tire got stuck between the 2 planks and I
flipped over and landed in the river..
I must of been 9 at the time, I didn't get hurt from the fall
till after my mom found out, needless to say I ate my
supper standing up that night.. lol

I was peacefully riding up a hill, eating a bag of Lay's Barbecue chips when a stray chip got lodged in the chain and sent the bike sprawling into a newly opened side of the hill filled with garden gnomes and bird baths. I went flying--bumping into an assorted array of garden accessories until the bottom of the hill when I got my head lodged in a brass birdbath. I was stuck there for half an hour. True story!

I have 2 stories to tell you- The first one was when my mom and I were riding our bikes down a road, which had a hill(so of course we were going a little fast!) and my mom was behind me, and I put my brakes on and she hit me on accident(she was going to fast to stop!!) and I flew over my handlebars and I scraped my knees, forehead,& elbows. All of those items were bleeding. My mom had to have surgery, had to get some teeth fixed, and her ear had to be fixed a little. I has a horrible feeling to c my mom in the ambulence with a bleeding face.
The second story was definately not so bad, but it hurt- Well I was riding my bike down my road, which is not busy at all, so I was riding with no hands. So I kind of hit....a pebble and my handlebars were like going all over so I fell off and landed in my neighbors yard. Thank god they weren't home! The inside part of me knee(on the outside of the skin, obviously!) had a big scrape on it. I think that was the only injury I had from that. But I was like 12 and I rode my bike home crying!! And I am 14 now!!

I was just little and didn't have my own two wheeled bike yet and would not leave my sister alone. She finally gave me a ride on the back and after a couple of times around I got bored but didn't want to tell her that for fear she'd get mad at me but, as I was growing bored, my legs relaxed and I got my little foo ties caught in the spokes. I remember the doctor tickling my foot with a feather to see if I had sensation. Turned out okay but I'm sure it was a scare for all(including me)

i do no longer think of i might desire to agree extra with Cycleguy, different than that i don't sense as harshly approximately it. From interpreting the comments and questions the two one in all you have published over the final 12 months or so, I might desire to assert that i do no longer understand precisely what that's which you adult males have occurring up there, yet howdy, while you're playing it and having exciting, then ok. i does not unavoidably motivate Katherine to holiday on ice and snow, even nevertheless it is easily attainable and that i does not discourage her the two. I do think of that if she's have been given this O.C.D. bent on driving quickly and racing/beating you in site visitors, then that's a important recipe for her to get extremely harm. Heck, if she's already fallen numerous situations then she needs to get a clue and alter the way she's driving while on those surfaces/highway circumstances, or she needs to stop it and p.c.. up driving/her driving form while the pavement is dry and sparkling lower back. it is as much as her, nevertheless. i'm hoping she has scientific well-being insurance and a few money set aside for motorcycle areas if she happens to crash badly sometime. If it have been me, i might sluggish the heck down, settle for the impediment of motorcycle vs. icy roads, and placed on some wider knobby tires, probably even some studded tires if it is that undesirable on the roads. wish this helps some....merely an opinion consistent with remark. good good fortune to the the two one in all you. :o)

"Worst"
Oh yeah...
This was a doozie for me.
Riding at a good speed on a major arterial road,
close to the curb, my front wheel was "swallowed"
by a dip surrounding a sewer and I immediately
took flight over the bars FACE first!
I remember my rinny chin chin touching down and
scraping over asphalt for a MINIMUM distance of
5 feet. (Felt like 10!!!) Ouch!!!! SPLATTTT!!!!
I got up, covered in blood, looked behind (NO CARS)
and feeling lucky, I untwisted my bike and actually
rode to the hospital ER. They stitched my chin.
Tossed that bike into the trunk of a cab and NEVER
rode it again.
People walking toward me actually moved over and
"parted" on sidewalks for the next month.
Very weird, very strange. Guess I looked like a beaten
thug or something with those stitches and scrapes on
my face. Mr. Charming.
Ouch.

On my ten speed coming home from swimming with my beach towel wrapped around the handle bars. End of the towel fell and got wound up in spokes of front tire. I then flipped face first with the bike on the shoulder of a busy road. Spent a day or so picking gravel out of my shoulder and elbow. Lump on forehead and a busted lip. Ahhh yes those were good times....
