I've thought about asking the same question! Maybe people are excited or upset when they type relationship questions. Maybe the English language is becoming a lost art. Whatever it is, it's annoying. Spelling, grammar and sentence structure are primary to communicating your thoughts and feelings. Maybe people feel less inclined to write well because we're on line? I don't get it. It makes me want to stress how important the written word is to my kids even more! It shows how our education system is failing us more than we even know. I'll see a post that looks like a 7 year old wrote it, and the person is 30 something. Wake up folks, pick up a book. Meet spell check...

I definitely agree with you.
Sometimes it gets very frustrating dealing with the inarticulate...but, what do you expect on Yahoo Answers when 75% of the attendees are children or teens - or possibly school drop-outs?
Perhaps an English Speaking forum should be set up? LOL
It makes absolutely no sense, unless - of course that these individuals are foreigners.

As an English Major I automatically edit each question that comes up. But yes it is very annoying. From what I understand there may be people writing questions that are from a foreign country? Yet alot of these people are youngsters (teen) and unfortunately, that's just the way they talk. Can you imagine our president 30 years from now talking that way? Lordy! And you thought we were at war now. LOL The questions that are not written in decent english, I simply skip over.

Ah yeah, this is not about grammar or who knows how to write a sentence, this is about interacting with each other. This about finding answers that sometimes are really hard to find in our complicated lives, or just to have some fun. It doesn't matter, as long as the question is legible and understandable, that is fine with me.

I've noticed the same thing. Is it computer slang or ignorance or a combination of both? If so, at least they should make enough sense with it so others know what they are asking or commenting.

I completely agree with you! It seems that half of the time you check the questions on here you have to decipher what they are trying to say or ask.
Not only that the grammar is horrid. Now don't get me wrong my grammar is certainly not beyond reproach but can we at least have complete sentences?

It's probably that people on here don't type as fast as they can talk or think. If you understand the point, what difference does it make?

Yes, I'm sure everyone here does. It's just that they don't proof read what they write and they don't check their spelling .It's OK with me.Some just do it to get under the skin of others.

I seem to have the most problems with people who don't capitalize proper nouns ("English"), and who don't begin sentences properly with capital letters ("why" and "every"). Actually, the spelling probably gets to me more than those two, but it's all relevant.

Well, that person is either typing in a hurry or they just can't spell or use the proper punctuation. Why does it bother you so much???? I could care less.
