Gandhi and MLK Jr. always come to mind as leaders who made extreme efforts to promote the advancement of people through non-violent means.

In my opinion true leaders should be selfless and not looking for wealth, power, and trying to benefit those around them with wealth and power. They should be about the advancement of all people.
