good question, not sure he will win it should be a close vote this year between Dirk, Nash, Kobe, Duncan and Bosh. If D-Wade hadn't missed 30+ games he would have easily have won, maybe next year for him.

I sure hope so.

Dirk and the Mavs get so little luv and respect for the national media it's insane!!!

The other day I was watching a show in which Tim Legler voted against Avery Johnson as the Coach of the Year, stating that he won it last year and that they need to share the luv and award it to another coach...meanwhile when asked about the MVP, he went with Nash.

Regardless of the sport, National Media (in general) hate anything Dallas.

Dirk is not all about stats, although his stats are right there with the best of them. But he is an MVP due to his leadership and character. The way he is on and off the court. The way he is an example in work ethic.

He is the first to practice and the last to leave. He must be the hardest working superstar and yet he is not about self promotion.

Mark Cuban honestly hurts Dirk to an extent as his personality rubs some the wrong way...but then again without Cuban, the Mavs would NOT be where they are. Yet this is another topic for another day.

Dirk is the MVP in my book, he is what is good about the NBA...a player with little to no hype who has made it to be one of if not the BEST player in the league!!!

On a side note, I believe they should wait and present regular season awards when the Championship is over!!!

The MVP should go to a man with heart. Dirk is a 7 footer who loves the jumpshot but scared to post up and be a man. Dirk is not even the real MVP of his team, let alone the league. Josh Howard is the MVP of the Mavericks. Steve Nash has played so much better that maybe he should win a 3rd straight award. Kobe is the MVP of scoring. Lebron is a possibility also. But don't forget about Tim Duncan.

i do not imagine he can win it this year. thinking the undeniable truth that he crumbled in the course of the double previous general time loss to the Suns (neglected a freethrow that would have received the game) at the same time as former teammate Steve Nash flourished and added contained in the grab, Steve is going to win the MVP this year. yet desire remains alive for Dirk. The Suns and Mavericks will nevertheless meet lower back contained in the traditional season (in Phoenix, i imagine) and Dirk could use that as a device to get the earnings decrease back. notwithstanding it will be complicated because that Nash will also be doing each little thing to make positive that the MVP will flow to him. So assume an truly aggressive activity no longer in elementary words between the communities yet as well between those 2 MVP applicants.

hey brown why would your examples be bosh and lebron, kobe bryant is obviously the most VALUABLE To his team, I mean the guy needs to score 50 points just to get a W... AND THEY STILL MADE THE PLAYOFFS!!! I think if you put a player like steve nash or Dirk Nowitzki on the lakers they wouldn't of made the playoffs... but thats just my opinion.

I agree with Brown I hate when they gave it to Steve Nash, the suns are good and wouldn't do horrible without him. Can't really take Kobe b/c the insane scoring isn't getting many wins aren't thay only like 8th seed? The Cavs went from the worst record in the NBA to a top team in the east with LeBron you can't say he isn't the most valuable.

not if they give it to somebody who is the Most Valuable to his team....

-sorry, i realize that he is probably your favorite player on your favorite team....
and i like the guy i really do

but if i had a vote, it would be for a guy who meant more to his team
i think that without Dirk, the Mavs would have won 50 games

without Bosh or Lebron, their teams would have been dumping games right now trying to get a better lottery pick.
