There is so much you can do. Recycle, don't consume as much, walk instead of drive, don't have kids, become a vegetarian, turning your thermostat down, don't waste electricity, etc.

This drives me mad. CO2 does not destroy the ozone layer. CFCs destroy the ozone layer. THe destruction of the ozone layer and global warming are completely separate issues.
However, to answer the question. It is still debated (by real scientists) whether manmade CO2 is responsible for the apparent upward trend in global temperature. Either way global warming will not 'destroy the world' it will significantly change the environment, possibly for the worse (from a human perspective) but nothing is more certain than the facts that:
a. The Earth will still exist
b. Life (thanks to the amazing feats of evolution) will continue
Having said this it is not necessarily a bad thing that humanity is forced to question its use of resources and the efficiency with wich those resources are used. However, it is also important to retain a sense of reality and avoid the hyperbole associated with the politcal aspect of the argument. It is also important to ignore people who have no idea what they are talking about.

Global warming is a natural cycle of the Earth but with a little help from mankind. Where did you hear that the "Earth is being destroyed"? But just that little added help has dramatically increased the process. If and when we actually do something about it, our descendants generations from now will be the ones that will be greatful that we did...

The earth will not be destroyed. Sounds like someone is brainwashing you. There may b nothing we can do. The sun's output has gone up .2% in the last 40 years and Mars and Pluto are also warming up. Read here --
