Im looking to buy a Range Rover, Its got to be a diesel, it cannot be the new one. I got about 10k to spend. I would like an S reg or newer with a max of 90k miles.

Has anybody got, or owned or has any thoughts on these models. The 2.5 DT or DSE

Are they a bit sluggish, i read they have the BMW diesel turbo engine. What faults should i look for. I had an BMW X5 and everything went wrong with and it was just out of warranty! cost me about 9k to get it fixed, hence why i cant afford another one, but i liked the driving position thats why i though of the Range Rover.

Why do you need a Chelsea tractor?

The range rover is a very nice car and you should be able to get a good one for £10,000

Avoid the petrol ones, unless it has a properly fitted LPG conversion. In which case you get far more responsive power than the diesel.

The R/Rover has more class than the BMW but large cars like these do cost a lot of money to run properly.

Make sure the one you buy has a full service history, and get it checked by the RAC/AA before purchase, it is well worth the money.
