One book I read suggests that due to evolution, the human brain (and therefore, the human head) has evolved much faster than the heads of most other mammals. That could be one explanation.

Consequently, the book also says that the size of the head forces human babies to be born 3 months to "early," and they aren't ready to be out of the womb when they are born.

Yes, it seems that way but I really wonder if it is because they can't talk they don't yell in pain the same as humans do. As a child we have several dogs and cats, and watched litters been born (dogs) and the mother didn't seem to be too distressed. Obviously she had help, but still had to go thru the experience basically on her own. Your idea about evolution is most likely correct. I feel for the elephants though....that is an awesome sight, god knows how they cope completely on their own in the jungle...

After watching my canine supply start i could no longer disagree with you greater. She replaced into under pressure and agitated the finished time. Animals merely have a various way of coping with discomfort than people do. An injured animal is one that is incredibly susceptible so as that they attempt to stay calm and quiet throughout the discomfort. it incredibly is an argument of survival. If the yell and cry throughout the birthing technique they run the possibility of attracting predators while they're maximum susceptible.

Well, I dont know what your religous beliefs are, but they say its said its so painful for humans because adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit. It was eves punishment. I know right? She just had to have that apple, thanks eve! lol. I have seen my cat have kittens twice, and both times I could tell she was in pain. She let out a little yelp a couple of times. But it sure does seem like they dont feel as much as us, doesnt it? I never really thought about it before. Wouldnt it be nice If we could just lay an egg? :-)

because the head is very disproportionately large in humans, making childbirth extremely painful and a much longer and more difficult ordeal. I don't think it's exactly fun for other animals, but certainly much shorter and easier.
