As long as they are not making a big mess and offering to help around the house and helping with the food they can stay as long as they want. If they are only visiting for like a week or so, I don't worry about anything. EVERYTHING is on me. This is with the exception of them going out drinking or to a restaurant.

Depends how special the guests are to me. I could live with my grandparents and enjoy it everyday, but most of the time 5 days is the maximum of my tolerance.

I cannot have someone as a guest in my house, I think its the fact that my mom never let me bring friends over and now I'm glad that my family is all moved out to different states.

If the house guests is clean and have proper manners and habits i do not mind having them for a long period of time.
But if they are not,i could only tolerate it for at most 4 days.

hello !!
mum and dad love to have people come over.
even i do as long as they make great company.
but the problem begins when they start staying for days on end .what irritates more is if they bring unruly kids with them.
with due apologies to all mothers,i must say some kids just can't behave themselves and what's worse is their parents don't try to redeem them.
we have had kids come over who wanted to take our things away with their parents not saying a word.can you beat that?
we had kids breaking our stuff and bringing the house down with their parents only trying to cover up .now, that's annoying.
otherwise,guests are okay.
''Athiti Devobhava'' right?
cheers & god bless:)

1-2 days at the most.
My aunt and uncle stayed with us a few months ago and they stayed in my room. And when I did my school work on the computer, home schooled, my aunt would say I was lazy and never did anything but play on the computer etc..."Oh we just got to stay a day or two" 5 months later I was so upset because they had let their kids put holes in my walls, take stuff off my shelfs, destroy my d&b backpack, smear pb&j all over were the bed was, then when I started yelling at them they accused me of being inconsiderate and a ***** ( yes my aunt and uncle called me their 15yr old niece a *****) and then when they finally left I went into my room and all the dvds I had lent them to watch were purposively scratched and there was a mound of old bottles of sour milk and trash under my bed. The worst time of my life lolFrom now on, nobody stays with us unless they have lost their house or its an emergency.

I'd say probably a week, because that's how long they usually stay for. I like guests, it gives me someone new to talk to and I love spending time with my friends and family because I'm usually so busy that I don't get to see them.

house guests are nice, as long as they do not over stay their welcome.
But i can not stand these people who come to visit, then misuse your house, your hospitality, and the fact that you were trying to be nice. and what really gets me, is when they have kids and they just let the kids run wild, break stuff and never discipline their own children

I love having house guests! My mom has stayed with us for up two 2 weeks after the birth of my children and certainly hadn't worn out her welcome.
