If self-examination is the mark of superior class of people, and blaming others is the mark of inferior people, will American blacks EVER realize that they must take responsibility for their own problems at some point if they are to expect respect?

HOPEFULLY not most blacks but just the most vocal ones.

To the ones that put Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson on a pedestal - there is no hope for you. You are backing the wrong team. Wake up!

Bill Cosby is a smart decent man who worked hard and his whole life and could take it easy now but he is trying to help the black community. I applaud him for his efforts because he keeps plugging away.

Agree 50/50...
But... There's good and bad, soul-full & soul-less, beautiful & down right ugly on both sides of the fence and also in different people in different regions of not only our country but in others.
BUT!
I do remember that Bill Cosby made a statement about some of his own people - Something about being "Ashamed of how they degrade one another and how some loves playing the "racist" card".
What I don't agree with is the wording of "superior class of people - inferior people"?
The bottom line is "We are all human with real feelings, hearts and souls". Life deals people different sets of cards and they play them the best way they know how. Yes!!! Some seeks hand-outs from others and expect it from now own. Others don't. They accept it as a blessing, and up-lifting from others that they can then start there lives by trying to do for there selves.
If we could get past the "color" of our skins and realize that all we have is each other and some day we might need that person(s) to help us through troubled times or worse. Life here could be a little more bearable and less stressful for all.

Who said that most blacks vilify Bill Cosby and exalt Al Sharpton??? Where did you get your information from?

You are incorrect and I would suggest you start that self-examination process so that you can become one of the "superior class of people".

What does Al Sharpton and Bill Cosby have to do with black's problems? What are their problems by the way?

Why do "many" blacks hear to Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton yet no longer bill Cosby? Do they supply theory to Cosby an Uncle Tom or what? because of the fact many black human beings have offered into the sufferer mentality of blaming their issues on anybody different than themselves. there are various black people who like to wallow of their very own perceived sufferer-hood because of the fact it is going to pay and brings sympathy. no person has executed extra for conserving this sufferer mentality alive interior the black community like that of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. bill Cosby tells it love that's and an excellent form of black human beings do in comparison to this message of "supply up being a sufferer" and initiate taking accountability for on your own strikes and communities. i'm afraid there's a definite classification of race subject solvers who do no longer want the affected person to get well, because of the fact as long because of the fact the ailment holds out they have not purely an straight forward ability of arising a residing, yet in addition an straight forward medium during which to make themselves in demand in the previous the commonplace public. -Booker T. I think that if you take any group of people and keep them perpetually in a state of victimization, they will act like victims. I do not believe it has anything to do with character, superiority or inferiority of race.

There are many contributing members of society who are black, including Bill Cosby, whom you've named. It's just that most are ordinary people, going about their business.

The spotlight is cast on the poor blacks, the welfare blacks and the gang members. But for every black in this circumstance, there are 4 or more whites.

I am for free speech, but I think this speech is counter-productive.

I don't think that all blacks have that attitude, but I suspect that the blacks who support Al Sharpton are racists themselves. Racism is racism, no matter what the color of the perpetrator is. People like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson aren't really any better than the yahoos who wear white robes and burn crosses.

The ones that do get called Uncle Tom etc. Please remember that they, for the most part, are leftover obsolete farm equipment. The Yankees freed them but didn't want them. Maybe things would have been better if repatriation would have been carried out after the civil war.

We as Americans have to take responsibility for our actions. We "black" and "white" must stamp out racism. It is alive yet in sort of a remission as if it were cancer. "Blacks" are not responsible for their current situation. Yet they are accountable for it.
Just as when a parent raises a child improperly when the child becomes an adult he may live with dysfunction. He is not responsible for his situation yet he is accountable to change it.

We as Americans can work together to undo our dysfunction as one people. After all every person on the planet is one shade of brown or another. We all belong to the Human Race.
