If you want to strip it down to the physics, I suppose you could describe an emotion as a chemical reaction. However, that would be the bare minimum. That would be like describing a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, the most power naval war ship ever built, as a ship. There's just a little more to it it than just a chemical reaction.
