my period is early?

my period is 1 week early. I had my last period the 22nt of march and i started tongiht the 16th of april. my period is always normal, same day every month... whats up?

im 19. my period is very regular normally

not on the pill... Very painful, headach, very very light bleeding

It is normal for some women to have their cycle come early sometimes, but to be on the safe side I would recommend checking with your dr to see what they think.

Are you on any prescription contraceptives? Any more pain with this one than usual? Any other symptoms different besides the period coming early?

OK - after reading your response of it being very painful, light bleeding, I would say you could have dysmenorrhea (irregular, very painful periods, can develop at your age), but you could also have an ectopic pregnancy or something else that is dangerous going on. Call your doctor's office, someone will be on call that you can tell this to if they are not open, and they can give you advice. The only way to check to see if something going on is to run tests, so there's no way I can tell you for sure. So call your doctor ASAP.

our mentrual cycle is 28 days. But sometimes it does not ususally begins at the same date. it depends on how many days you have your period. sometimes the counting begins after the last spotting day. after the last spotting day count 21 days and your period will come. There is nothing to worry if it is one week early. Worry when it does not stop for the whole month. If you want you can go to a obgyne and have a check up to ease your mind
