I have a 4 month old rabbit, I need help trying to find a toy for her, I've tried a rubber ball but she just tried to eat it I also tried a cardboard tube, she ignored it...and I can't let her out of her cage for a long time only about an hour and a half cause my mom won't let me all she does all day is eat, I'm trying to find something she can play with most of the day, does anyone know any easy DIY toys?

Different rabbits like different kinds of toys--chew toys, toys they can toss around, something to dig in or rip apart, etc. You have to experiment to find out what your rabbit likes to do. Some ideas:

a box filled with hay, shredded paper, soil or sand to dig in

an open phone book for shredding

loosley wadded newspapers to rip up

a cardboard box with a few doors cut out

large cardboard tubes to run through or jump over--you can get these at pet stores or hardware stores

plastic baby keys

the cap from a laundry detergent bottle

paper cup

What kind of cage is she in? A rabbit living in a small cage won't be very happy and won't feel like playing. Most cages available in pet stores are too small. If you haven't already, consider making her a larger cage out of storage cube panels or a dog exercise pen. If she has plenty of room to move around she will be more likely to play. The only DIY toy I can think of that you haven't already tried is a cardboard box - they like to hide in them and usually end up chewing them as well. I get all my pet toys from Petsmart because they have such a great range, I love going there and buying presents. They'll also have some foody-toys for your rabbits, she sounds more food-orientated than toy-orientated, it happens!

You can find a list on http://www.rabbit.org but my rabbits love hard plastic baby keys, plastic slinkies, phone books, paper towel tubes stuffed with hay, towels to scoot and wooden parrot toys.

Empty yogurt containers are my rabbits favorite. they flip them around all day. they might nibble on them but not enough to cause any damage to themselves.
