There are many reasons why your periods could be irregular now and the best way to find out what's causing it is to see your doctor, I'm afraid. Your weight (if you've drastically lost weight or put on a large amount) can change your periods as can taking a new type of medication or even altering your current treatments. Stress is another factor to consider. Make an appointment to see your doctor and put your mind at rest.

This sounds like a hormone imbalance but the only way to find out if you have one is to go ahead and check with the dr. If you have a good primary care physician and you feel comfortable with them I would recommend starting there. They can help you to try and figure out what is going on.
