lol well lidls is meant to be cheap and there prices r going up. its 21p for a tin of beans and in asda it will be about 12p so i think there prices r going down to a certain stage.

Because they keep halving their prices. If you keep halving you'll never reach zero:
8,4,2,1,.5,.25,.125,.0625 and so on.
Eventually they'll have to stop though - after all you can't charge £0.001!
