Hitler would not have gotten the "Chair." In the 1940s, the standard method of execution was hanging -- and Hitler would have had a very lengthy and public trial, and then hanged, as were the other Nazi leaders.

No. The Nuremberg Trials were an international effort, and hanging was the preferred method of execution then.
Nowadays, the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the successor to the Nuremberg Court, would not condone capital punishment, probably not even life imprisonment, and and go for a long prison term instead.

Hitler if he was captured would have been like the other war criminals hanged if convicted. It was the execution method of choice with the International Military Tribunal.

history, states that in Europe, hanging was the method in the latter 1940s...military tribunals also used firing squads..i would say a 80-20 chance in favor of Hitler hanging..the nuneburg war criminal trials used hanging... Nazi caught by Israel were hung in the fifties and sixties
