need to know the ages of your children.

One way to find good books is to go to Amazon.com and search by age. Then read all the reviews written by parents, and kids. I've purchased several books this way and it has been a pleasant experience. It has also helped me "not" to purchase a few books, like the next in a series. When I checked the reviews and read about the story I determined it wasn't age appropriate for the child I was thinking of.

Good luck.

I do not know how old your child is, or if your child is a boy or a girl, but I do know that Bellissima Publishing, LLC has a variety of children's books that are based on good moral values, positive gender images and good solid writing. If you are looking for these types of books for your child, written by teachers, and people with college degrees, books upon which you can depend, then I recommend this publisher. You might try 'The Tic Chronicles' by Paula Parton, or 'Surfer Girl' by Penelope Dyan, or 'For Boys Only! No Girls Allowed!" also by Dyan---There are other books as well, and I do not want to mention them all here, but you just might want to take a look at the very colorful, kid friendly website with your child at www.bellissimapublishing.com where you can see all the Bellissima books in one spot. Bellissima may even have a book or two you would like. And the quality is the kind of quality that we don't see anymore--a very different look that I really like!

These are not self-published books. This is a new small publishing house with a new look and a new idea when it comes to books. The idea is affordable quality.

I should know because I own the company.

Age would be helpful. But, here are some ideas.

- Age 4-7 Some of my favs are by Kevin Henkes. Also try Arthur books from Marc Brown...very cute. And, also, Franklin books by ???. Oh, and Dr. Seuss...alwas great. Eric Carle books are really good, too.

- Age 8-11 Start look for chapter books. Bridge to Terabithia is a really good book. Try some Junie B. Jones books and Magic Tree House books.

- Age 12-up Take them to a bookstore and let them find something they like.

It totally depends on age, gender, interests etc., but I know that when I was 7, 8, 9, and to an extent 10, I used to adore Enid Blyton books (I'm 15 now, so it wasnt that long ago). I know that they're old fashioned, but they're books that so many kids can get lost in and really appreciate, and also nurture a love of reading in life. They really just are excellent. I'd recommend the 'Mr Galliano's Circus' series. Ohh, I wish I was a kid again...

I don't know how old your kids are but I got these books when I was a little girl and kept re-reading them until my early teens.
-The Adventures of Paddington Bear
-The Adventures of Famous Five
-The St. Clare's series (this is more of a 'girly' book)
All are by Enid Blyton.

There is a book that is suitable for ages 10 to adult. It will stretch a child's mind as well as entertain. It is well written, original, and will keep you riveted until the last sentence. It was written for children but Adults like it as well. It's Visitors by Bob Chapman and it's on Amazon.

"Goodnight Moon" and "Love You Forever" are classic childrens books.

I loved the Berenstein Bears and anything by Robert Munch when I was a kid!

Then again, how old is you're kid?
