My mom brought some LV buckets and a Gucci drawstring satchel back from a trip when I was a sophomore in high school... which I remember, because I took one of each on a school trip to London and Paris.

I cycled through all of them but did not spend any money on them, just borrowed them. I think everyone thought they were fake but they were real. The leather and canvas quality on the LVs were amazing, and they really ARE waterproof - I spilled stuff in the large drawstring bucket and it survived no problem.

Right now I love my giant, structured, royal blue BCBG Max Azria in boar skin leather. It is so durable... but right now my new fave is for spring, this buttery soft lemon yellow Prada I got in NYC a month ago.

My first designer bag was a Saks Fifth Avenue shopping bag my mother tossed into the trash. I dug it out of the trash, threw all my dollies inside it, and carried it down the street under my left arm. I was about 6 years old, and I was the envy of all the neighborhood girls.

I'm still using that ratty old shopping bag until this very day! It carries some of my life's belongings. The rest of my belongings I keep in my shopping cart I push all around town.

Coach - I was 28 years old & got a good deal at an outlet. ($89 instead of $200)

My husband & friends liked the bag. I was glad to have something well made and classic.

Ten years ago I got a Bally wallet on sale for $100 (orig. $200), I almost returned it but liked the supple leather too much to give it up. It's really held up well.

I was 21, and my mother bought it for me. It's a Brahmin purse, and it's still gorgeous to this day. It cost $230. I was in love with it from the start; my uncle, who's my mother's brother, made a snarky comment about it being called "Brahmin," based on the whole Hindu caste system. But it's just a name, and he agreed that the leather was lovely. I'm 33 now, and it's still held up beautifully, and has transcended various trends.

Coach. My grandma bought it for me so I don't know the cost and everything but I was happy to have it because it was a purse. I was too young to know anything about "labels".
