I not only believe in ghosts, but am a part time paranormal investigator and I have several documents proving their existence from pictures, videos, and strange voices on a recorder that one just cannot explain. We have also had SOO many experiences, probably similar to what you are experiencing in your house on many of our investigations. Energy NEVER dies, it merely transforms itself. There are several kinds of spirit energy, one being a spirit that seemingly interacts with you, one that will react if you speak to it, make eye contact if you see it, and/or one that will respond in some way in real time. Then there is a "residual" haunting which is more like a person or persons engaged in an activity that they are still doing over and over again and when YOU see it with your own eyes it is like watching a movie from the past, yet they have no recollection of you and your current time period! Then there are ghostly "feelings," sounds, smells, and noises. These are energies that you cannot SEE but yet feel with your other senses. (the most common kind) Children are also extremely sensitive to this kind of energy because their minds have not yet been programmed to deny unscientific experiences. Pay attention to when your child speaks to or gestures at something that is seemingly not there, and take photos! Most likely there IS something there and it usually shows up in the photo in some strange way!

I would love to hear about the kinds of experiences you are having. Please feel free to email me, in the meantime check out a cool website www.soulsandspirits.com for more info and cool pics!

i think either every house i have lived in has been haunted, or the ghosts just come out when I'm around. my boyfriend, friends, and family have all witnessed things. no one has ever seen a full apparition, but i think my son sees more than anyone else. he has pointed and asked "who's that man?" and said a number of things about "the man" as if he was standing right there. at first it was the creepiest thing, but I've gotten used to it and i try to answer his questions the best i can. as long as no one is getting hurt, i don't think there is a problem. the worst I've experienced (besides being afraid) is a pinch. I'm not as afraid anymore, and since I've never really seen real proof with my own eyes, I'm still skeptical. any experience i have i try to debunk...weird, i just heard what had to be my son's toy cell phone, so i picked it up and none of the buttons make the exact sound i heard, but i know the sound came from that phone. while i have no proof that a ghost did it, what else am i supposed to think?

After living in a haunted house growing up as a child, I have to say that yes, I do believe in ghosts and have witnessed a lot of paranormal activity in one of the creepiest haunted houses ever. Glad I don't live there anymore and have to go through any of that now, but me and my whole family knows first hand that ghosts are real.

I don't believe in ghosts. I think that surroundings can frighten a person and make them experience emotions and conjure thoughts and even hallucinations, but no ghosts. You may be scared to be alone, may be that you live in an older house, maybe there is a space in your house that has more energy than other areas of your home. It's not ghosts. I hope that you find peace and are able to relax and feel comfortable in your home. My philosophy is, they don't pay rent, they can't stay here!

I would just like to place a note out here, since a lot of people are mentioning their kids. Medical Science has always seemed to named anything they can't explain such as seeing things as schizophrenia, what if, these people are not like that, and are actually seeing it. A lot of people do tell there kids that the "invsible friend" is not real, but what if they were wrong....what if kids, being as innocent and naive tot he real world, that they can actually see sometime, that you yourself, in you mind has learned to shut off ?

I watch my cats and dogs, sometimes they stare down the hallway or into a corner for minutes not moving once. I somtimes get an eerie feeling, and look for my cat, and what is she doing....starting at a corner in the room. They see something that most people can't see unless they open up their mind, and let the possibilities soar.

I am a paranormal investigator, not because I want to see a ghost, but because I HAVE seen them and have helpped many people, who live in fear because they feel their home is haunted. Sometimes, it's just natural occurances that they have, and it scares them because they don't know what it is,...but there's those days when you get it on tape and EVP and you just can't explain it, and have to tell them, "well, you do seem to have a haunting"

They are very real, but in all honesty, unless you see one or expierence it for yourself, you'll probably never believe anyone who claims to see one and will think they are crazy, but one day, maybe you will and trust me, it'll change your life forever.

I've been dealing with it ever since I was a little kid, and now I'm here to help others dealing with it, if they in fact do have a haunting.

Yes I do believe but only because i have seen plenty. We used to live in a very haunted victorian villa a few years ago. A dark figure would stand on the stairs and at night footsteps would be heard around the bed and I saw plenty of figures and there were strange smells and noises.

It ended up after looking into the history of the house that the guy who built it and lived there originally was highly religious, and even the enterior of the house was churchlike as he had wanted. Of course he didn't approve of my music etc and eventually we moved otherwise i would have got in a medium to move him on. Ends up that the next owners moved cos the house was too haunted too.

I think it has to be a little bit more than a coincidence that EVERY culture on this planet has seen ghosts in some form or other.

EDIT: He's asking this in here, 9987, because ghosts are often interpreted to be tricks of the mind. He's asking in the right place (aside from Mythology and Folklore, of course).

Yes. I do believe in ghosts and have had a few ghostly experiences in my life. Personally I love it! I would be excited to live in a haunted house again (I did on two occasions) but now my place is boring and there is nothing ghostly about it. Investigate your home! Research its history. It'll be fun I promise.

good luck

If there were any credible scientific evidence for the existence of ghosts, I might find that a theory positing the existence of ghosts to be the best available explanation for the observed data.

But in the absence of data, I do not find reference to ghosts to be a useful part of my understanding of the world.

Well they say that energy is created and can never be destroyed, but I can't say that I believe in ghosts. In my opinion they are simply a fantasy, or a fish story. Lots of things happen that people can't explain... that doesn't mean that there isn't a reasonable explanation for the things that happen.
