I have like 3 prom/evening/formal wear dresses and i was wondering how i can sell them or donate them. i would like to sell them for the extra cash (cause i could really use it) or donate them to an organization that can really use them. any ideas?

EBay is one choice that others have mentioned.

I woudl look for consignment shopes near you. They will take clothes and if they sell they take a cut of the sale. Check the yellow pages and then call them and ask. THere may be ones that are more likely to sell prome dresses.

Good Luck!

In the SF Bay Area, there's an organization called the Princess Project that distributes used dresses to girls who cannot afford to buy a new dress. http://www.princessproject.org/princess/

You can try a local consignment shop, Craig's List (be careful - do not meet strangers alone, etc.) or e-bay. The other selling options would be a local garage sale or a rummage sale.

Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul and Goodwill are other places to donate the dresses. You can also contact local school's w/ theatre depts. They may like to have them for their wardrobe collection.

EBAY???ebay is always the first choice for some people but i heard if you go to bridal shops or anywhere that sell prom dresses. you can talk to someone that might like to buy it or something my friend did this and the girl bought the dress right from my friend.or there is another option, there is a monthly thing with the salvation army(i nkno that they might not be your 1st choice but hear me out), and they send out a form to any one who has donated anything to anyone ang you have to fill out the slip, give it bac,and then they pay the exact same price as what you payed for the dress!!!!but i would give it a good dry-cleaning b4 just to make sure it's all nice nice.GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

is there any one you know that's going on there prom right now may be they will buy them .if not is there a salvation army or another place you can donate them .most people like to buy there own prom dress so the chance of selling them will be slim.but it would be nice if you do decide to donate them.

What about donating it to girls who can't afford them? They need a slammin' dress for prom too.
If you want to go that route try Princess Project

If you're set on sellin' any consolidation store will take a look at them.

Post it in ebay and sell it for a really cheap amount so that many will be interested. Or you might have relatives / friends who may want to borrow.

u could have a garage sale and sell it for a little less than what u bought it for.

ex. if u bought 1 dress for $200, sell it for $150

E-bay or Craigslist. If they don't sell then donate them.
