Maybe you should put a mirror in a book you are reading and that should scare the hell out of you ha ha j/k Try some James Patterson books, they can be a little eerie. Stephen King is a good author too that is known to have that effect on folks. Good Luck!!!

I don't know about really scary, but Laurell K. Hamilton is great for a gore fix. Another plus is she writes about vampires and slaying zombies. I've never been scared, but some of the images are kind of gross.
Dean Koontz is pretty scary, same with John Saul.
I can't really recommend Stephen King since I find him too damn wordy, but many people swear by him. I have no problems with books with a lot of words, but I hate when one scene takes two pages to describe.

It's not a thriller (Amazingly), but The Eyes Of The Dragon is an excellent book about Stephen King. It makes you wonder and think. It also makes you a wee bit suspicious. I got paranoid when reading it. It's also my most absolute favorite book.

I would reccomed books by John Saul and Dean Koontz. They gave me goose bumps and I went around scared to go into big houses alone for weeks after reading The Right Hand of Evil by John Saul and very little freakes me out. Stephen King books don't even scare me.

If you want a book that will scare the hell out of you, may I suggest "Intensity" by Dean Koontz? I read it in one sitting one night when my husband was out of town, and after I was done, I had to sleep with the lights on. That's saying quite a bit, since few things really scare me.

It won't scare you persay, but it will make you think twice about certain world events, and it's a thriller. Bel Canto, it's about terrorists taking hostages in a small unnamed South American country. It's very good actually. It'll broaden your reading too.

The Exorcist by Peter Blatty.
Can't put it down, but you'd jump out of your skin everytime you hear a sound.
